Aru’s Dokapon Kingdom for the Wii Review

FUCKIN’ AWESOME!
Well, I feel this way better in a GROUP rather than playing by myself.
If you like games like Mario Party then you will definitely enjoy this game. You get to start off as a warrior, mage, or a thief and progress through the kingdom doing side quests and conquering towns while trying to get the heart of the princess. It makes fun of fantasy, medieval, and RPG games in a way that makes me giggle plenty, but it still has some decent graphics that are really, really adorable.
There’s special unlockable classes that you have to do a variety of tasks to get depending on the class. Like, I believe a Cleric is unlocked if you max out two of the beginner classes? Or maybe it was a mage and something… I believe what the next class unlocked was varied on the two classes you chose. I would have to go look, because I don’t remember.
But the game is really cute and colorful and I find it fun to play with my friends.
Apparently it can get REALLY competitive in the wrong group, as a friend of mine keeps emphasizing (and claims I’m playing the game wrong if everyone is happy the whole time), but I like getting randomly competitive then doing my whole thing. Actually, I prefer just getting competitive with the computer. Though, we attacked my brother when he decided to turn evil (YES YOU CAN BE EVIL! O.o) and attack us, so me and my son were all “RAWR DIE NOW”. We would noooot forgive him after that one.
I don’t know anyone that has beaten this game since there’s like eight levels and a bunch of places to land on. It sort of reminds me of an old school Mario game. Spaces can turn into battles or events that are randomized and it’s just really entertaining.
I love this game <3
